Disaster area… Destroyed by an earthquake… The people have lost everything they had!
As a “normal European”, one thinks to oneself…. the poor people in Haiti, perhaps I can help? At best, one had made a donation a couple of years ago when it happened, in the form of money, clothing or toys for the children. And so one’s conscience was satisfied and the matter put to rest.
