Hanger Ivan R. Sabel Fondation
The Hanger Ivan R. Sabel Foundation is a non-profit organisation which was brought into being by the American Hanger Orthopedic Group and the CPO Ivan R. Sabel. The foundation stands up for people in the world’s crisis points since the middle of the 1990s. There was a prosthetic rehabilitation center set up shortly after the earthquake in January 2010 by the foundation. It is attached to the Hospital Albert Schweitzer in Deschapelles. Since the center opened on February 22, 2010, it has supplied hundreds of Haitians with prostheses – and this works only because the foundation recruits specialists from around the world to volunteer for two weeks each at the rehab center.
